FALL FESTIVALS, "Sagre Autunnali"
In the fall there are many festivals to celebrate delicious food items. Many small villages and towns have a Sagra, a small local festival, to celebrate a local product such as chestnuts, wine, truffles, and even wild boar. If you have the opportunity, I recommend that you try to experience a Sagra while in Italy. It's a great way to sample local products, people watch, and soak up the local culture. My personal favorites are the Sagra del Tartufo Bianco (white truffles) and the Sagra del Vino Nuovo (new wine). |
