New
to renting?
|
|
|
Here
is a step by step explanation for renting vacation properties
with myItalianVacation.com
|
|
1.
Browse our online catalog
Browse our on-line catalog and decide on a property.
If you have trouble choosing, feel free to contact us.
We are happy to assist you. Once you have chosen a property,
complete the on-line Booking
Contract, and then sign and fax or mail it to us.
|
|
|
2.
Consider travel insurance
We strongly suggest that you carefully review the
Travel Insurance option
when completing the Booking Contract. We recommend
that our clients purchase this insurance so they won't
suffer a loss in the event that a medical emergency
or certain other emergencies prohibit them from traveling.
|
|
|
3.
Checking the availability
myItalianVacation.com will contact the owner and book
the property if it is available. At this time payment
of either a 50% deposit (if booking more than 10 weeks
before the rental) or the full contract amount (if
booking within 10 weeks of rental) is due. Payment
can be made by check or credit card.
- If you pay by credit card, your card will be charged
at this point.
- If you pay by check, your reservation will be secured
upon receipt of your check (which must be no later
than 7 days after our receipt of the signed Booking
Contract).
|
|
|
4.
Receive your confirmation
A Confirmation Invoice will be mailed to you once
the payment is received. This invoice will show the
amount and due date of any balance due.
|
|
|
5.
Complete the payment
The final payment is due 10 weeks before the start
of the rental period. The amount and due date will
be shown on the Confirmation Invoice, as noted in
Step 4 above.
|
|
|
6.
Receive complete instructions
About 4 weeks before your departure date a voucher
will be sent to you. This includes arrival instructions,
detailed directions to the property, instructions
on how you will receive the key, check-in and out
times, the address and phone number of the property
(if available), and authorization to stay at the property.
There will also be the name and telephone number of
a local agent who will assist you with any questions
you may have while staying at the property.
|
|
|
7.
Meet your local representative
When you arrive at the airport or in the area, carefully
follow the arrival instructions to meet the local
representative and pick up the keys.
|
|
|
8.
Provide secure deposit
Depending on the property you may need to provide
a security deposit to the local agent or the owner
in local currency at the time of your arrival . These
deposits usually run between $200 and $500, but must
be given in local currency. If this is required it
will be specified in the Booking Contract.
|
|
|
9.
Enjoy your vacation
If you should have any problems with the property
while you are there, please call the local agent as
the first step in resolving the problem. If the problem
is not resolved right away, please contact us so we
can address the issue with the owner. In any case,
if the issue continues for 24 hours please contact
us!
|
|
|
10.
Drop off the keys
Before departure arrange a time to drop-off the key
with the local agent. At the departure checkout you
will receive back any local currency security deposits
you placed and pay for any locally metered telephone
or utility charges which are known at the time.
|
|
|
11.
Pay any outstanding additional charges
If there are any charges which cannot be calculated
at departure (such as telephone or heating use which
is not monitored by a meter in the house) these will
be billed to you once the property owner receives
the bill from the utility company (this is usually
in about two months).
|
|
|
12.
Complete feedback form
Please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire
about your experience at the property. We really appreciate
and use the feedback our clients give us. It is vital
to our efforts to provide our customers with an extraordinary
vacation experience.
