Can we rent for less than a week?
Most properties in the countryside rent on a weekly basis,
Saturday to Saturday. That said some villas and country apartments
are willing to bend this Saturday to Saturday rule in low
season. This weekly rental rule does not usually apply to
apartments in cities and country Relais, where it is possible
to rent for less than a week, with a three night minimum stay.
• What is a country Relais?
Although we specialize in Villa and apartment rentals, we
now offer our clients shorter stay options to complete their
Italian Vacation. This recent addition of a Country Relais
category has grown from the many requests from our clients
seeking unique places to stay for a few days before and/or
after their stay at a villa or apartment. We opted to use
the term Relais for the type of accommodation we have chosen
to represent in addition to the villas and apartments we work
with. In our travels and contacts throughout Italy, we have
found some lovely properties that aren’t villas or apartments,
but don’t exactly fall into the hotel or B&B category
either. What we call Relais are more like small boutique hotels
in unique and often times historic settings. They don’t
have kitchen facilities, but generally include breakfast and
sometimes have small restaurants serving local dishes. We
believe the properties we have chosen to include under our
Country Relais category offer our clients a special, off the
beaten track experience not found in a hotel.
• Why are the prices in Euro?
Due to exchange rate changes, the prices on our website are
posted in Euro. The US Dollar equivalent will be calculated
based on the currency exchange rate at the time of payment
using www.xe.com rates.
• When do we pay for the rental?
If you are booking more than 10 weeks before the start of
the rental, a deposit of 50% of the contract amount is due
with the Booking Contract. The remaining 50% of the contract
amount is due 10 weeks before the rental. If you are booking
within 10 weeks of the start of the rental, the full amount
of the contract is due at booking.
• How do we pay for the rental?
The Rental Amount may be paid by check or credit card. We
accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Please note
that there is a 3% fee for all credit card transactions. If
you choose to pay by credit card, please complete the Credit
Card Authorization form on the booking contract.
• What is your cancellation policy?

• Is there a booking fee?
myItalianVacation does not charge a booking fee.
• What about extra fees?
Extra charges vary by property. These locally paid extra fees
may include final cleaning, maid service, heating or optional
extra services (e.g. maid service or a cook). Any extra charges
are listed on the website under the property description.
Extra charges are also listed on the booking contract to avoid
any surprises.
• When will I get my security deposit back?
Most properties require a locally paid security deposit. This
amount varies from property to property and must be paid in
cash (Euro) at the time of check-in. Your security deposit
will be returned to you when you check out after checking
the conditions of the property and deducting any outstanding
fees (e.g. heating, final cleaning, maid service, etc.).
• What does Travel insurance cover?
We offer Travel Insurance through Travelex. For more detailed

• What is the check-in procedure?
After receiving the final balance, which is due 10 weeks before
the rental period, we will send you a voucher which includes
arrival instructions, directions to the property and local
contact information.
What are the Check-in /Check- out times?
Check-in/out times vary from property to property, but, generally,
check-in is between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM on the day you arrive.
Check-out is by 10:00 AM on the day you depart. It is important
that you not arrive before 4:00 PM because the property is
cleaned and prepared (for arriving guests) between 10:00 AM
and 4:00 PM.
• What if we have a problem during our stay?
The voucher includes contact information for the owner local
agent and/or owner. If there are any problems with the property,
please contact the local representative immediately. If you
need additional assistance, contact us. We also include a
list of numbers that may be useful for problems not related
to the rental property.
• Do you work with Travel agents?
Yes, we are happy to help travel agents arrange their clients'
accommodation.

Do you have a catalog?
We don’t have a printed catalog. Instead we offer an
online catalog, which enables us to give our clients the most
up to date and accurate information regarding the properties
we represent. We are continually updating our site and adding
new properties, so visit us often to see what's new.
